Traveller Advisory: Temporary Changes to Checked Baggage Screening at YXS
The primary checked baggage screening unit at Prince George Airport (YXS) is currently out of service.
Checked baggage continues to be screened using the backup screening unit located in International Arrivals.
Travellers checking baggage are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure and follow the direction of airline, screening and airport personnel.
Passengers travelling with carry-on baggage only may proceed through the passenger screening checkpoint as usual.
Flights continue to operate; however, the temporary checked baggage screening process may result in additional processing time.
If you are travelling with checked baggage
- Arrive at the airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure.
- Check in with your airline and receive your baggage tags.
- Proceed to the temporary checked baggage screening area located in the International Arrivals area of the terminal.
- Remain with your checked baggage until screening is complete.
- Once your checked baggage has been screened, proceed to the Pre-Board Screening (PBS) checkpoint.
If you are travelling with carry-on baggage only
- Check in with your airline if required.
- Proceed directly to the Pre-Board Screening (PBS) checkpoint.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of travellers while temporary screening process is in place.
