WestJet Now Servicing Prince George and Calgary Non-Stop
Prince George, BC— WestJet’s inaugural flight to Calgary (YYC ) left the Prince George Airport (YXS) early this morning. A celebration complete with breakfast items, coffee and cake was served to those travelling on the 6:00 am flight.
President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority, John Gibson says “this is an exciting day at YXS as travellers now have choice when flying to Alberta and beyond. This flight saves anyone travelling east, connecting out of YYC, anywhere from two to six hours of travel time. You asked, we delivered and now the success of this service is in the travelling public’s hands.”
“Prince George is one of WestJet’s early destinations and we are very grateful for the strong
support of northern British Columbians over the past 15 years,” said John Weatherill, WestJet’s Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “Residents have asked for additional service and starting today, our guests will have the opportunity to take an early-morning, 90-minute flight to Calgary and connect to 27 destinations throughout the WestJet world. Whether heading south for a business meeting or a week-long vacation, we’re very pleased to offer our Prince George guests more connectivity than ever before.”

The daily flight leaves YXS at 06:00, arriving in YYC at 08:27. The 136 seat Boeing 737-700 jet returns, same day, getting into Prince George at 22:27.
This flight offers a variety of connection options out of the Calgary International Airport including places such as Toronto, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Halifax, New York, Las Vegas and Phoenix.
