Emergency Landing at YXS

Prince George – The Prince George Airport Authority was made aware of a WestJet Q400 aircraft having issues with the landing system at around 10:31 am this morning.

WestJet Flight 3105 originated in Vancouver and was headed to Terrace, but was diverted to Prince George with 40 passengers and 4 crew members.

The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) activated the Emergency Operations Centre shortly thereafter. PG Fire, Pineview Volunteer Fire Department, the RCMP and the BC Ambulance Service were all on scene and ready to assist.

Shortly after 11:39 am the plane landed safely without incident.

WestJet is accommodating their passengers for alternate travel arrangements.

PGAA President and CEO, John Gibson says “it was great to see the collaboration between all agencies involved and we are relieved this incident had a happy ending.”
