Temporary Checked Baggage Screening Disruption at YXS

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) advises that checked baggage screening at the airport is currently being conducted manually by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) due to a temporary disruption in the automated screening system.

Passengers departing from YXS may experience delays at baggage drop during this time. This is a new disruption, unrelated to last week’s outage. The automated system was restored on July 30, but a separate technical issue has now occurred.

PGAA is working closely with CATSA to support the manual screening process and reduce the impact to travellers.

We recognize that disruptions of this nature can be particularly challenging for passengers with accessibility needs. While this situation is being resolved, we encourage those requiring assistance to identify themselves to staff at check-in or security so that appropriate support can be provided.

We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as efforts continue to restore full system functionality.

Updates will be posted here as we receive them as well as the YXS Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FlyYXS
