Prince George Airport Authority Partners with Local Legion to Offer Free Short-Term Parking for Veterans
Prince George, BC – The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) is proud to announce a new initiative in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #43 (Prince George) to offer free short-term parking to individuals with veteran license plates.
Beginning today, August 11, 2025, veterans displaying official veteran designation on their license plate will be eligible for complimentary parking in the airport’s short-term lot, providing easier access for travel and airport visits. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to recognizing and honouring the contributions of those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces.
“This is a small but meaningful way we can express our appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans,” says Geoff Ritchie, President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority and Royal Air Force veteran. “As someone who has served, I’m especially proud to partner with the Prince George Legion to make travel a little more convenient for those who have given so much to our country.”
The initiative was developed in consultation with the Prince George Legion, which continues to be a strong advocate for veterans in the region.
“We’re grateful to see this kind of recognition for our veteran community,” says John Scott, spokesperson for the Prince George Legion. “It may seem like a small gesture, but it sends a big message. Our veterans are valued, respected, and remembered.”
Signage and updated information will be available on-site and on the airport’s website in the coming weeks.
