Non-Stop Flights to Mexico Set to Take Off in December

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) is thrilled to announce WestJet will once again be operating weekly flights to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR) starting December 16th. The “Snow to Sand” service hasn’t operated since February 2020.

“The most common question we have received over the last three years pertains to bringing back the flight to Mexico. We have worked tirelessly to bring this seasonal weekly service back to the passengers of our region” says PGAA President and CEO, Gordon Duke. “This flight first launched out of YXS in 2005. The demand is there as many locals have timeshares or own property in this popular destination. So, this is great news for everyone in the region.”

“We have heard loud and clear from the Prince George community around their excitement and demand for non-stop connectivity to Mexico and we are thrilled to be bringing back popular non-stop service from Prince George to Puerto Vallarta this winter,” said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Commercial Development.

Northern BC residents can escape winter and be on a hot, sandy beach in just over five hours via the Boeing 737. The YXS-PVR flight will run every Saturday from December 16, 2023 to April 20th, 2024. This flight leaves Prince George at 13:00, getting into PVR at 20:21. On the return, this flight leaves PVR at 8:20 and arrives back home at 12:01. Schedule subject to change.
