Communiqué de l'aéroport Prince George concernant l'incident d'aéronef sur Foothills Boulevard

L'aéroport Prince George a été informé dans l'après-midi du 20 août 2026 d'une situation d'urgence concernant un aéronef et s'est préparé à accueillir l'appareil pour un atterrissage d'urgence à YXS. Les ressources d'intervention d'urgence de l'aéroport ont été placées en alerte.
L'avion n'a finalement pas atterri à l'aéroport Prince George, et l'intervention de l'aéroport a été suspendue après que l'incident se soit produit sur Foothills Boulevard et que les services d'urgence municipaux soient intervenus sur les lieux.
We are saddened by the loss of life confirmed by RCMP and extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the individual who lost their life. Our thoughts are also with everyone affected by this serious incident.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has since confirmed that the aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air 200 operated by Sekani Air Ltd., departed Sturdee Airstrip and was en route to Prince George Airport when it experienced an in-flight engine failure. Two crew members and six passengers were on board, with no injuries reported among the aircraft occupants.
The Transportation Safety Board is conducting the aviation safety investigation. Questions regarding the circumstances of the occurrence, the aircraft or the investigation should be directed to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB). Questions regarding the off-airport scene and emergency response should be directed to Prince George RCMP.
L'aéroport Prince George reste opérationnel.
