Fire fighting training will be taking place at the Prince George Airport (YXS) this coming week, at about 1:30pm in the afternoons of Monday, May 27 and Tuesday, May 28.
During training, fires are lit and extinguished in the airport’s self-contained fire training facility under tightly controlled conditions. These fires do not pose a threat to the public or surrounding properties. This is part of annual fire training and certification for Prince George Airport rescue and firefighting staff.
The fires produce dark smoke in the vicinity of the airport, which sometimes causes concern to local residents.
