Grand Opening of the YXS Elevator Link Building

Prince George, BC-Today, August 8 2018 we celebrate the grand opening of the Elevator Link Building.

“Lack of accessibility to the long term parking has been the number one complaint by people using our airport.” – John Gibson, CEO and President

We received $2,000,000 in funding from BC Air Access to fund 2 access projects at YXS. The first was the rehabilitation of our main apron which was completed in 2017. The second was for the Elevator, two stair cases, and a sidewalk ramp which were started in 2017 and just completed. We look forward to providing accessible options to those with mobility issues, families, and the general travelling public. The enclosed staircases will be protected from the winter elements providing a safer route from the long term parking to the terminal building.

“We would like to thank the many community and regional representatives who provided letters of support in our efforts to qualify for BC Air Access funding. IDL Projects Inc was the general contractor on this project. Office of McFarlane Biggar Architects and Designers (OMB) provided the architectural design and project management. They were also the designers for our arrivals and departures lounge in the terminal building which was completed in 2006.” – John Gibson, CEO and President
