As part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification, the Prince George Airport Authority will be conducting aviation related structural fires in the fire training area of YXS several times over the next 2 weeks.
Training is scheduled to start today, Tuesday June 19th from 1:30pm- 3:30pm and it will continue at the same time on June 21st, 22nd, 25th and 26th.
These fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area which has in the past caused concern from local residents resulting in increased call volumes to your agencies.
These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas.
The training will be postponed if there is a lightning storm in the area.
Thank you in advance for helping spread the word.
